“I Remember” at Rose Center for the Arts

"I Remember" just closed at the Forsberg Gallery at the Rose Center for the Arts at Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington, and I'm still thinking about what it means to hang work in a place like that — a public college gallery, free and open to the community, with twenty-foot walls. The I Remember series has always been about the way memory adheres to physical sensation, to color and horizon and the specific weight of certain moments — and watching that work land in a new geography felt like the paintings were doing exactly what I hoped.
I've been fortunate to show across Colorado and Washington, and the Forsberg is the kind of venue I care deeply about — a regional public institution making space for serious work in a community that doesn't always have easy access to contemporary painting. If you're in the Longview area and missed it, the gallery hosts exhibitions year-round and the Rose Center itself is worth the visit. Thank you to Lower Columbia College for the invitation and the care they brought to the show.
